Myee was Jacks 2nd boat, a 24-foot gaff cutter, purchased second hand in 1930. Jack described her as having delightful sheer, a nicely rounded forefoot, lovely counter & a delight to sail. She had varnished Oregon spars, dark green topsides & coach-house. Shortly after acquiring Myee, Jack met & fell in love with a vivacious brunette named Kathleen Gillette, a gifted journalist & freelance book reviewer. Jack & Kath married in 1933 with only the priest as witness in Sydney’s St Mary’s Cathedral. Within an hour they were on board Myee & cast off for a sailing honeymoon. Myee was sold for 95 pound ($190) in the mid 1930’s to make way for the boat that was to make him famous. See Floorplan (PDF)
