Jacks very first boat, a 16-foot clinker built half deck sloop, purchased second hand in 1928. Jack at the time was working in Sydney as an artist at Truth newspaper. Jack lived aboard Eula at North Harbour & sailed her every at every opportunity, venturing as far as Broken Bay in the small boat. Every trip recorded in a beautifully illustrated log, a practise he was to continue with the series of boats he owned. The love affair with Eula lasted 2 years & she was sold in 1930 to the then Governor of NSW, Sir Philip Game for 40 pound ($80) See Floorplan (PDF)
